Since independence ,the advancement of india as a nation has been on the word “go”. The uproars of “india shining”, “technology boom” and india emerging as a nuclear equipped nation has made the headlines. The socio-economic condition of the nation also has seen rapid improvements. Mass media and information system likewise also has been soaring high due to technological strides. General mass is now more conscious and time and time again they have voiced their reasons against any discrepancy in the system.Further the mass media has provided us with an excellent outlook to all this happenings, which can directly or indirectly effect our social existence, so kudos to them.
But it can be termed as a matter a national ignominy in the era of wikileaks, tehelka ,RTIand many more ;our administration system has shown little interest in unveiling of all the records related to the mystery of “Netaji”. We are in complete dark about the last days of this legend, whose sacrifice for the nation cant be denied by any means. He endeavoured to ingrain in our bloods the very love for freedom, when our nation was shackled serpent like noose under the barbarian british rule. But our disinterest to probe is seriously matter of disgrace, its a matter of disrespect to this legend when the civil society in recent years have put together their acts to seek justice for ordinary people…even a dead gangster….but the issue of netaji met with a sinful apathy. We are spending in lakhs for a criminal like ajmal kasab, commissions and CBI probe for CWG and 2-g scam but the issue of netaji is in deep waters. Trully speaking i am not trying to amplify the glitches of our system rather its an eye opener to allure them correct their stands , I agree many commissions were set up for the probe but not to any good effect. Files related to the mystery have been marked as “super secret” and perpetually hidden from our eyes .Lack of co-operation and putting up politicaly influenced documents by the commissions has further constrainted the results of investigation. till date no proper evidence to the death of this great Indian is there in the records. Many people even reason the view that just before the independence a secret pact was signed wid the british government with a clause of handing over netaji if he comes back and treat him as a war-prisoner. A valiant attempt to suppress the truth and ensconcement of the possible links is in the run. Years rolled on but the mystery never died down. Questions were raised over and again at different platforms, including Parliament. The government tried to put up a brave face by concocting stories on taihoku plane crash and we remained passive to most extent without lending our voices.
I enclose here some of the discrepancies of the reports of the various commissions related to netaji investigation-
Sahanawaz commission-
The Committee included Shah Nawaz khan, A. C. Moitra and Suresh Chandra Bose(brother of netaji). The committee was appointed in December 1955 and began its work in April the next year. It submitted its report in July 1956. However, the committee was notable in that two of the members, Moitra and Bose, submitted what has since come to be called the "Dissident Report" that differed from the official report of the committee submitted by Khan to the Indian Government.
Its a matter of fact that mr. sahanawaz later became minister of state in congress government.
Khosla commision-
The khosla commision was a one-man commission headed by Justice GD Khosla that was established in India in July 1970 to re-investigate the circumstances surrounding the supposed death of Indian war-time leader Subhas Chandra Bose. The commission sat for four years and submitted the G D Khosla report, which reached the same conclusions as those reached by the Shah Nawaz Committee in 1956.
The G D Khosla Commision Report has been decried by its critics as one rich in rhetoric and poor in substance. Last but not the least, the report labours heavily to disprove charges that governments in independent India had not been hampering the probe into Subhas Bose's disappearance. Justice Khosla took special care to clear charges flung at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru that somehow gained prominence during this period.
Conclusions drawn from the above mentioned commission reports-
The epitaph for the Khosla Commision Report as well as its predecessor, was written by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai on August 28, 1978 in the Lok Sabha. He said:
"The Shah Nawaz Committee and the Khosla Commission hold the report of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's death following a plane crash as true. Since then, reasonable doubts have been cast on the correctness in the two reports and various important contradictions in the testimony of the witnesses have been noticed.
"Some further contemporary official documentary records have also become available. In the light of those doubts and contradictions and those records, government finds it difficult to accept that the earlier conclusions are decisive.’
Mukherjee commission-
The Mukherjee Commission report was tabled in the Parliament of India on 17 May 2006. The report said that Netaji did not die in the alleged air crash of 1945 and the ashes at the Renkoji temple are not his ashes. The Govt of India has rejected the findings of the Commission, saying that it did not agree with the findings. No one cooperated in the investigation and consequently the JMC of enquiry was forced to submit its unfinished work to the home minister Shivraj Patil. The main reason for this is the non-cooperation shown by the home ministry. The dissatisfaction caused resulted in Justice Mukherjee sending the report through his secretary rather than submit it in person.
During the whole tenure of the investigation, only one country, Taiwan has shown any real cooperation. Even the Govt of India refused to share some important intelligence files under the pretext of them being sensitive. The JMC commission was formed by the former NDA Government to investigate the mystery surrounding Netaji's death at the end of world war II. The only kindness shown by the UPA Govt was to extend the commission's tenure by 6 months - from May 2005 to 14 November 2005.
Mukheerjee commission was the first to decline the alleged death of netaji by plane crash at taihoku. But it denied the fact of existence of netaji subhash Chandra bose as “gumnami baba aka bhagwan ji” in faizabad, though many evidences have testified this fact . Recently i came across a link which questioned netaji’s post independence existence (by ashok tandon). The paper has come up with many flabbergasting facts related to possible causes of dissappearence of bose and his afterlife.
A true hero and his heroics have collected the dust with time but we don’t seem to look back, his spirit of freedom and words of motivation are forgotten. I agree that he is not alive anymore but he didnt deserve all dis controversies.a true legend never dies and we cant write him off.Could there be a possible trail to the mystery or we will still negotiate the matter like dis,if it is so ,i think der is no need of any probe. His spirit will never reason “am i dead” ….jai hind
